From the recording The Rhythm Of Your Life

I always loved this song though it doesn't quite fit into a traditional structure and definitely isn't commercial. It was the first song that I ever had critiqued in Nashville, and because of it I started to understand how better to write a more commercial song. When I started co-writing shortly afterwards with Tom Murphy, that process of learning how to write a commercial song advanced by leaps and bounds. I do really like the opening line of this song though. "It's not the big events when they send out invitations, but the mornings when you wake up and have quiet conversations. It's then you know what love is and you understand the rhythm of your life."
