A note from Jerry:

I have been a musician my whole life, playing piano, guitar and blues harmonica. I taught theater and have directed plays since my early twenties, and eventually I started writing music for theater including original shows. In the early nineties I studied songwriting with master songwriter Hugh Prestwood who introduced me to the Nashville Songwriting community and NSAI. From that time on I began regular trips to Nashville, studying and teaching writing through NSAI and pitching songs. In 2002, I connected with the production of "Urban Cowboy- The Musical" and eventually had a song in the show for its run on Broadway in 2003.  At that time the songwriters of "Urban Cowboy" were nominated for Best Original Score at the TONY Awards. Being a TONY nominated songwriter has opened some exciting doors. I have had the opportunity to write for independent film ("The Marconi Bros" at SXSW which was commercially released as  "The Wedding Bros") as well as a number of co-writing relationships with some wonderfully talented singer songwriters. It's been a wonderful journey that keeps unfolding and I welcome you to join me on that journey as you explore this website. I encourage you to scroll through my co-writers' pages which link to their websites and definitely check out "What's New!"
